clifton park

big weekend starting. my big brother from my fraternity is getting married, and we're headed up to vermont for a big chi phi-style wedding. a lot of the bros and their ho's will be rocking it. the chief and chief chick are coming over tonight for dinner and hanging out, and then staying over so we can hit the road early tomorrow.

the big plan is that we're going to stop in clifton park, my hometown, on the way there. i lived their for a little bit more than half of my childhood (counting childhood as up to graduating from high school), and it holds a special place in my heart. i actually haven't been back there in almost twelve years, and have sadly lost touch with most of my friends. however, i did ping a few of them (classmates.com is pretty cool). at the least, we'll drive around, see the hood, see my house, and head out. at best, we may even get to see some of my friends. i'm really excited...and nervous about it, too.

a beautiful wedding

the cheese and mcgruber's wedding was classy and a great time, but nothing compares to this one, in my very own atlanta: click here

twice in a lifetime

it's rare that you get to walk down the aisle a second time with the same person. kind of neat.

noboday said it was easy.

headed back to dc...greetings from gate B24 in hartsfield, where there's a recharge lounge. in a melancholy mood for some reason. it might have to do with having listened non-stop to coldplay on xm in my rental car for the past three days. one of the stations is running a 30 days of coldplay marathon. they have a lot of good songs that i hadn't heard before, and there is also some sad shit in those songs, man. i also drove through inman park, my old hood, this morning, and it made me really miss atlanta.

hit the flying biscuit, an old haunt, with the beav, her dude, and their 10 month-old daughter. it was great to catch up with them, and it made miss atlanta even more.

the scientist is one of my favorite coldplay songs (dr. wintermute got me hooked on it). the chorus keeps bouncing through my skull: Nobody said it was easy. No one ever said it would be this hard.

appropo of nothing, i guess.

anyway, flying back now, gotta mow the lawn, finish cleaning the house, and have the chief's birthday party tonight. he and chief-chick are actually probably there right now, bring stuff for the grill out to my fridge. the chief asked me if i could host his birthday party--'just a few folks. should be laid back.' as of 11:49 this morning, there are 21 confirmed guests on the evite. nice 'little party.'

dr. w is in puerto rico on a girls weekend. she's hiking through the rain forest today. i talked to her late last night, as she was hanging out on the rooftop with the chicks, and said she was going over to another bar where there was music. i swear she said that ricky martin was there.

turns out that they were playing a ricky martin song. i must have been confused.
