canvassing

leaving atlanta. spent the week in orlando, then back to dc for a day, and then down to atlanta. momma cass was visiting. great to see her. tough circumstance, as she was here visiting a really sick friend in the hospital.

good couple of days here. in the midst of a bone-wearying travel crunch. two cities this week. turn back around and fly back here on sunday for a sales re-org meeting that starts monday morning. back home thursday night, and then out to LA on monday morning for the whole week. whew.

tomorrow, dr. wintermute and i hit the trail, canvassing for obama. should be good. although, i'm not sure someone who looks like me campaigning for a radical muslim may not help the cause. well, hopefully we can help swing virginia. i'm also doing a call bank for ohio (my home state). my background probably plays even worse there. the wintermute name just arouses too much suspicion, i guess.

debate party at the chief and chief chick's place. just as importantly, their fantastic home made hot wings are in store.

return to clifton park

on our way to vermont for the big bro's wedding, we stopped in clifton park, my hometown. i have a lot of great memories of my childhood there, and i hadn't been back in twelve years. it was a bit like stepping into a time warp, as not much had changed. the area around the highway exit had been built up, but once we got into the neighborhoods, it looked very similar.

check out the pics here.

the one big change was that the address of the house actually is on a different street and house number. it's a corner lot, and at some point, i guess they decided they want to be on a different street. weird.

the family that lived in the house was very gracious. they let us walk around and take pictures. they have really renovated a lot, including replacing the deck and the screened-in patio, putting in a pool in the backyard, and gutting virtually all of the carpet, appliances, bathrooms, windows, and doors.

i also got to catch up with one of our neighbors who were our best friends.

the other good news is that it sounds like j-watt's wedding will be in clifton park next year (she grew up one town over, but we didn't know each other until we got to emory), so i'll get to go back again soon.
