return to clifton park

on our way to vermont for the big bro's wedding, we stopped in clifton park, my hometown. i have a lot of great memories of my childhood there, and i hadn't been back in twelve years. it was a bit like stepping into a time warp, as not much had changed. the area around the highway exit had been built up, but once we got into the neighborhoods, it looked very similar.

check out the pics here.

the one big change was that the address of the house actually is on a different street and house number. it's a corner lot, and at some point, i guess they decided they want to be on a different street. weird.

the family that lived in the house was very gracious. they let us walk around and take pictures. they have really renovated a lot, including replacing the deck and the screened-in patio, putting in a pool in the backyard, and gutting virtually all of the carpet, appliances, bathrooms, windows, and doors.

i also got to catch up with one of our neighbors who were our best friends.

the other good news is that it sounds like j-watt's wedding will be in clifton park next year (she grew up one town over, but we didn't know each other until we got to emory), so i'll get to go back again soon.
